Heidi is currently in Teachers Training for yoga and is very excited about teaching.
Her study of yoga is based on Anusara yoga,
Founded by John Friend, Anusara Yoga is a heart oriented method of hatha yoga, based in the bio mechanics of the Universal Principles of Alignment and the tantric philosophy of intrinsic goodness.
The highest intention of practicing Anusara Yoga is to align with the Divine. As we deepen our alignment in body, mind and heart with the Supreme, we step deeper into the flow of Grace. It is through the revelatory power of Grace that we awaken to the truth that this Divine flow is our essential nature. This higher knowledge naturally fuels our deepest desire to lovingly serve the creative flow of life through each breath and posture in our yoga practice.
On our yoga mat we artistically offer our individual light and our unique music with the heartfelt prayer of adding more beauty, love, and goodness to the world.
yoga etiquette
please arrive 10 min. early to settle in.
Leave your shoes & worries at the door
Drop your need to feed your ego and just have fun feeding your soul! We invite you to step into a vibrant, playful practice of yoga that inspires, empowers and encourages fun!
Listening To Your Own Body
Yoga as a practice asks us to honor ourselves and any physical limitations we may have. Although a teacher will lead you through poses with verbal guidance and hands on adjustments, listening closely to your own body is required for a safe yoga experience.
Do you have injuries or limitations that will affect your yoga experience?
If so, please let your teacher know before class - always keep your teacher updated to any injuries or illnesses you may be experiencing. Always get your physician's approval before engaging in physical activity such as yoga.
Hands On Assistance
teachers offer "hands on" adjustments to help you find freedom in your poses. If you are uncomfortable with this, please let your teacher know before class.
When you enter the yoga room, immediately become aware of those around you. If someone is already in savasana, lay out your mat softly, without making a “bull whip” motion. Get blocks if you need them for class; please put blocks up after class. After class, move silently, and clean mats after everyone is up. Please observe silence after class in the yoga room.
The yoga room is considered sacred space. Leave your cell phone in your car or the dressing room. The purpose of your practice is to distance yourself from the distractions of the outside world and turn within. All your worldly concerns will still be there for you after class. Give yourself 60 minutes for your mind to learn to be still. This will reward you in many wonderful manifestations outside of the yoga room.
Leave your keys with your shoes. It keeps the “jingle” out of the room and prevents you from picking up the wrong shoes by mistake.
Bare feet and comfortable clothes are essential.
Refrain from wearing perfume or scented oils and lotions in class.
Always practice at your own pace and listen to your body.
Keep your heart open and be prepared to work and have fun!
